Content Marketing is a process of marketing online that involves the creation and sharing of online material (such as videos, blogs, and social media posts) that does not explicitly promote a brand but is intended to stimulate interest in its products or services.

The Content Marketing Institute, an online resource for information on all things content marketing related, defines content marketing thusly:

Content marketing is a marketing technique of creating and distributing valuable, relevant and consistent content to attract and acquire a clearly defined audience – with the objective of driving profitable customer action.

Content marketing  is a very effective style of marketing  online because it doesn’t scream “buy buy buy” at the audience, in fact very often it doesnt even have to ask to be bought,. Simply by raising awareness of a good or service  and creating enough discussion and buzz about it. Is sufficient to launch a viral internet campaign.
